<p>Snoring is a very common trait in adults and is usually no cause for alarm. However, for many people snoring can be a serious sign of a disorder known as sleep apnea. During sleep apnea a person may experience periods of more than ten seconds when they actually stop breathing. And this cessation of breathing can generally happen several times a night. This is cause for concern because, if untreated, sleep apnea can lead to stroke, irregular heartbeat, and even heart attack due to lack of oxygen.</p>
<p>Sleep apnea in children has been linked to ADHD, stunted growth, learning difficulties, high blood pressure, and bedwetting. While the reasons for snoring are difficult to discern, there are many things that individuals can do to reduce snoring including:</p>
